Information we collect

We collect account information (such as email), profile details you provide, usage data, and payment metadata from our payment processor. Messages and connection data are stored to operate the service.

How we use information

We use data to operate RoomieMatch, show profiles to signed-in users, compute compatibility scores, process payments, respond to safety reports, and improve the product. If AI features are enabled, profile fields may be sent to our AI provider to generate match explanations — never expose API keys in the client.

Sharing

We share data with service providers (hosting, payments, email, AI when configured) under contracts. We do not sell personal information. Reports are visible only to authorized administrators.

Retention & deletion

You may request account or profile deletion by contacting support. Some records may be retained where required for legal, safety, or fraud prevention purposes.

Your choices

You can set profile visibility to private, block users, and report concerns. Cookie preferences are described in our Cookie Policy.
